ive heard that mc guiars (Spell Check) stuff is pretty good.

if, by amoral you meant armour all, you should never use that shit... people are all ignorant to its ability to crack and fade leather and vinyl... Not to mention the fact that its designed to attract dust, so you use more to get that shiny look back of course.. DOnt use a dash cleaner.. Get a cleaner and protectant Specifically for leather... Amsoil leather protectant is a favorite of mine, Lexol works real good too

Thanx, my mom warned me about amour all, that it cracks your dash 'n shit... so waht do you suggest for vinyl and plastic?

Black Magic protectant is oil based and has always done a good job for me

Joseph1082
04-14-2004, 01:49 AM
Isn't Black magic pretty much the ame as Amour all, i mean, it's right next to it at Pep Boys.

DaMoNe6969

I use mcguires for my dash and plastic.. its like a thick foam.. Works pretty good.. keeps the dust off, and it stays shiny for a while.. I guess its a matter of opinion though.. I was just always told never to use armour all, or petroleum based cleaners.. And I was told this by interior repair companies, detailing professionals and such.. I take their word..

Joseph1082
04-14-2004, 03:24 AM
Thanx, I want to treat my new car right, so nothing petroleum based? Ok, so oil, oil bases are out of the question, but isn't that what everybody uses? And you answered my question, black magic is essentially the same as amour all.

DaMoNe6969
04-14-2004, 05:06 PM
well it makes sense when you think about it.. but most people dont.. Petroleum is fuel, fuel will eat away just about anything it comes into contact with short of metal... I know a lot of products are starting to use teflon instead of petroleum and oil, Ive heard nothing bad about it, and seems to work pretty good though..

Joseph1082
04-14-2004, 11:05 PM
so what products r u using?

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 12:56 AM
recently ive been using mcguires vinyl/rubber protectant for my interior.. THe leather seats in my supra are pretty ratched so I dont bother buyin protectant for them

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:00 AM
Mcguires isn't oil based? Do they sell it at Pep Boys etc, i know they have the wax, which is supposedly the best

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:05 AM
yeah.. I would imagine.. I live in canada so we dont got no PeP boys... Those are the guys off simpsons with the real big heads eh? and when they come back to life, they gotta carry their heads in shopping carts?? Classic..

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:08 AM
I will start using it, get rid of the amourall, no static w/ it either, right

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:10 AM
I havent noticed any dust collecting on my dash, and I last put it on about a week ago.. So far its been really good.. I noticed whenever I used armour all, it'd last like 3 or 4 hours..

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:13 AM
does it shine like amourall?? Does it last, oh, i also heard prolonged amourall use will fade your dash

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:19 AM
Yeah it makes the dash look real good.. The bottle says that one application is for moderate shine, and if you want increased shine and etc. etc. to put a 2nd application on..

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:21 AM
thanx a lot!
oh, tell me... 03+ Cobra vs. Supra Highway race... your pick?

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:28 AM
what year supra?? Eventually the Supra will take the Cobra.. Mines a completly stock 90 turbo, and Ive pushed her passed 300kph.. (180mph) and still had room to go

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:35 AM
really, are U sure, becasue I never heard a Supra goin passed 180, that's ferari speed. I don't think it was faster than the vette of the same year.

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:38 AM
Supra's in 1990 were faster than the vette's.. From what im told (i dont believe it though) The Supra turbo was the fastest (or one of) mass production car in 1990..

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:41 AM
outside of european exotics i'd assume, but damn, i always thought it was the vette, but i could be wrong.

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:44 AM
Off the line, vette's or maro's will eat my supra.. but a highway race is a completly diff story

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:51 AM
I could be wrong too.. Its hard to say.. 1/4 mile time? or top speed? what type of corvette, and what engine?..
meh.. japanese piece of shit..no torque, all boost horsepower.. What good is Bhp? im sellin' it and buyin another camaro!!

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 01:53 AM
hmm.. I'll take the motor out of my 91' Z, and combine it with the supra engine...

A intercooled turbocharged inline V8... Get the best of both worlds.. what do you think?

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 01:59 AM
lol, surprised to hear all this outta a supra owner, usually you guys think your car is Jesus Chrsit, and that is why i love those Callaway or Lingenfelter TT Vettes, the are DA SHIT!!! Sounds good to me

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 08:29 PM
I dont find the car to be all that great.. Theres nothing as special about it as everyone makes it sound.. They all call me stupid when I tell em' it aint that great.. I really like the car and all.. for being 14 years old, it still handles better than any 4th gen camaro..
My dream car has the body, torque and simplicity of my 91Z28, and the top speed, handing and interior of my Supra.. That would rule...

Joseph1082
04-15-2004, 09:40 PM
what makes the Supra have such a high top speed... most import people I know concede that muscle cars have higher top speeds due to more cylinders?

DaMoNe6969
04-15-2004, 11:46 PM
The fact that the engine in my supra is built to handle holding high rpm's for long periods of time... Its designed a hell of a lot stronger than most chev blocks.. My engine can hold 600hp without any internal mods...
The design of these engines is really interesting..
Theyve got two seprate internal oil cooling systems just for the flat top pistons.. lotsa other goodies...

I c... side note, I went to Pep boys... but wasn't sure what to buy in terms of detailing... I want the real shit, not the cheap shit. Ok, they had Lexol cleaner and the conditioner for leather, for my dash, should I use their Vynxl or whatever, Pep boys doesn't have the Mcguire's.
For the outside, what do you suugest, Mcguire products? Their 3-step system

DaMoNe6969
04-16-2004, 03:11 AM
Ive never had any experience with Lexol or Vinylex.. If you really want the best stuff, find someone that carries Areospace 303 protectant.. Probably the best protectant on the market.. you can use it on everything but leather.. Even works real good on the epdm door seals, t-top seals, trunk seals.. etc.. Supposed to have close to 100% UV protection.. no oils, petroleums.. No greasy finish

DaMoNe6969
04-16-2004, 03:12 AM
for exterior, I like Mcguires, eagle one, or Mothers.. all are excelant products

Supra's in 1990 were faster than the vette's.. From what im told (i dont believe it though) The Supra turbo was the fastest (or one of) mass production car in 1990..
i read somewhere that the 90 300zx had the 90 supra beat.

i read somewhere that the 90 300zx had the 90 supra beat.

Itd be a real close race.. Ive seen time slips for both cars with a 1/4 mile of 13.5.. But the 300zx probably would have the supra beat

DaMoNe6969
04-16-2004, 03:21 AM
Wait, there was a 300ZX turbo, and a 300ZXTT in 1990.. the twin had the supra beat by a full second just about

Joseph1082
04-16-2004, 04:27 AM
Ok, got it, few questions... do u use a 3-step system?
And where can I get aero 303?

mike123
04-16-2004, 05:21 AM
