How bad is it to run an amp power wire under your car. I am wondering because there is no where else to run it through my firewall.

Why not...just find a nice spot for it that can use wire ties and things like that. My friend said he ran it along the gas line and then up through the drain on his spare tire compartment...try that.

well, it would make your power wire at a much higher risk to damage, plus it might even be more difficult - i wouldnt do it. two other options are: 1.(the ghetto way) - run it through the door jam and then under all the moldings in your car - a lot of people will advise against this, however i have seen it done many times with wires as thick as 8 ga with no problems. option 2: the right way - borrow a drill and just make a new hole in the firewall for it> its not that bad.

I would'nt recommend you run it under the car so it does'nt weather away. and don't run anywhere near the gas line just to be safe.

u can drill a hole thru ur firewall, just not a big hole, and run it on the side of ur car, i ran mines along the footwell, or however u call it, along the interior of my car

Wow, run a high current electrical cable next to a highly flammable gas line, sounds like the setup of champions. Wouldn't want to be in that car in an accident

Yea...doesnt sound like a good idea. He said he did that though and I never was quite sure to believe him or not. But if there were any place else to zip tie it that would be an ok idea...but dumb since it IS easy to run it through your car...was for me anyway.
