coilover problem(extreme)

I installed my coilovers, lowered,and put on my rims.lowered it about 2" all the way around, and threw on some 17's.But when I ride around it is so damn bumpy like there is no play in the springs, it just bounces around, like its a rock.Friends have coilovers and theirs arent even close to this rough.(plus the right rear keeps poping when I taken banked turns, like if im pulling in a parking lot going slow and the turn is slanted.DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG?It's like the coiloscoming off the top of the strut and then poping back into place?) ANY HELP WOULD WORK!!

thats no joke man i know it sucks bad. i know how you could fix that, find me a 96-00 civic hatch for under 5 grand.

A little more information . . . what brand suspension parts?

For the popping noise, makes sure the spring is seated correctly.

used the stock struts,R-1 coilovers.I installed them correctly,Im sure I did.

There's your first problem. Stock struts with coilover sleeves lowered 2". First off did you cut the bump stops? If not with a 2" drop your riding right on or very close to nice hard bump stops. You should cut those in 1/2 to shorten. Your stock struts were never designed to funtion when they are always compressed & with HIGH spring rates.

Get yourself some aftermarket struts, such as Koni yellows or Bilsteins. Any other strut is stock lenght(KYB/Tokico) & WILL NOT perform correctly with a 2" drop. If you don't want to spend the money for top notch struts, get rid of your "sleeves" & get some real lowering springs - nothing more than 1.5" drop. Why? Because you can use stock struts if you really wanted, not recommended. Or you can use basically any aftermarket strut(KYB/Tokico). Plus if you stay around 1.5" there is no camber kit BS. Also with normal lowering springs you don't have to worry about the corner weight.

I still say the spring or collar is not seated correctly.

You also need comber kits, alignment, & I recommend corner weighting with any adjustable ride height springs.

Remember if you stay with the sleeves, EVERY time the ride changed you should have it both aligned & corner weighted. Make sure to keep those threads COVERED with anti-seize or you "adjustable" springs will be 100% useless in a few month.

yeah you need to add aftermarket struts.
