Idle help PLEASE!!!!

Hey whats up guys. I am back again. I'm the guy who baught the eclipse that had to swap the engine.

I believe I got everything straightened out other then a problem I am having with the idle now.

Here it goes.....

My idle surges, and sometimes the car wont even start and the "CEL" blinks off and on. But I noticed that if I disconnect the pos wire off the bat and reset the ECU the car will start but when I start it and its cold the car will idle fine at about 1,000 rpm. Once the car warms up it surges back and forth from about 600 to 900 rpm. I cannot figure out why its doing that. I know 600 rpm is low. So my questions are this

1) If I adjust the idle alittle higher will it take car of the car idling so low?
2) Do you guys think theres a problem with one of the sensors?
A buddy of mine had the same type of problem but with his transmission in his eagle talon. And when he reset it was fine but after a couple of days it would do it again and then he found out that he had a bad sensor. So is this a similar type of problem?

Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated... Thanks.

Do the keydance to find the CEL
I think it is one of the sensors.

What exactly do you mean "keydance"

Also what sensor do you think it could be?

I have to stop using keydance...
It is when you turn your key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds. Then the CEL will flash according to the problem.

Do that.. I am thinking that one of the codes will be a sensor code, and thats your problem.

Look up the codes here...

I believe I did that and I noticed that the coolant light stood on when all the others went off. So could that be the problem? Bad sensor? Bad thermostat? Would that make the car tricky to start?

Not sure about the coolant light.
But when you did the ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON did the CEL flash?

Yes when I did that the coolant light stayed on and the CEL light flashed. It would only stop flashing when I disconnected the pos bat wire and reset the ECU.

Well your supposed to count the flashes.
Read the link I posted, in the 4th post down.

If not I would take it to autozone, and have them read the codes

Ok I just went to check it out. And I noticed that the check engine light wont go on now. Because I just reset it this morning so I probobly have a day or 2 before It comes back on. But I cannot take it anywhere before the only time the check engine light comes on and blinks is when the car wont start.

Do you guys think I can turn the idle up a bit? Its idling really low I just go in the car and as soon as it warmed up its was back an forth from 600 to 800 rpm and when it dropped it sounded and felt like it wanted to shut off.

One other thing I noticed. On the fuel rail off of my 95 engine there were 2 hoses going to it. I guess one was where the fuel goes to the injectors and the other way a return?
On the engine that I took off of the 98 it only has one fuel line. Do you guys think I should take the old fuel rail off and put it on the newer engine? Does that make a difference?

Any ideas will be helpful.

Well when it does come back on try going to autozone.
You could still try to have autozone read them, they may still be stored even though there is no CEL.
