Alright I will start out with a hello since I have not been on here before.
The question I have is that I just bought a 03 rodeo and it seems real squishy. It was a dealer demo and had 4000 miles on it when I bought it. Everyone I ask seems to think it shouldnt be that squishy. Has anyone else seem to have this problem also? If so will changing shocks help this or am I stuck with this forever?

New shocks will definately help. I replaced the stock shocks on my 96 with some Monroe Sensa-tracks and it did help with the ride.
From what I've read in other posts the 2nd gen Rodeo's (98 and up) have very soft factory shocks.

Ditto on the sensa-tracs. I scrapped the factory shocks on my 2002 at 12Kmi. HUGE improvement in ride & handling with the monroe S-T's. You wont believe how thin, light and wimpy the factory shocks are. They even have plastic top/covers on them! The OEM fronts already smelled of shock oil & were starting to weep at 12Kmi.

That is cool, I will be scrapping mine at 5000 miles and Im at 4800 miles now.. I hate the way it rides now, way to soft and leans real bad, did you guys see a difference in the leaning as well?

There is practically no lean anymore. I can take corners almost as well any car, which is great for a vehicle as tall as the Rodeo!
Stopping distance was also reduced due to much less forward pitch when stopping. All in all a much more controlled ride.

I think it depends entirely on what you intend to do with your Rodeo. I personally love to go hit the trails. I also tend to like a rather stiff ride. If you like a stiff ride, go with Pro Comp ES9000 shocks. They are around $40 a shock. If you 4 wheel and really want to drop some money into some pretty kick ass shocks, I recommend the Rancho 9000 shocks. They are full adjustable with 9 different settings. I use the Pro Comps b/c I didn't want to spend $250 on shocks. I got my shocks from www.4wheelparts.com. Hope that helps.

I got mine online- don't remember the site! :smokin: :banghead: . At that time, they had a deal going, buy 3 & get the 4th free. Total cost was like $101, shipped to my door. Took an hour or so for me to get'em on. Just use a ratching box end wrench for the top studs on the rears & hold the tip of the stud still (where it's notched) with a cresent wrench. It's tight but do-able. The rest is simple.

can someone give me some part numbers please on the shocks. I need them for the ranchos, pro comp or sensa trac.. I have a buddy that owns a 4 wheel place and want to call him with the part numbers to buy some new ones instead of saying I dont know what I need but I need shocks.. LOL.. Thanks again guys. mine is a 03 2wd v6 if that matters in the shocks that I need.

I'm putting on mine this weekend. I bought mine from the Canadian Tire store here up north. Google up "monroe shocks" and you will find enough online vendors.

Have you guys had any issues with the computer controled suspension crap on the 2001+ Rodeos after replacing the stock shocks with Sensa-tracks?

I need to swap the shocks on my 01 Rodeo. I have the Bilsteins in hand, but wonder if there will be some fancy-schmancy tools required. Please post if you have any exprience with swapping late model Rodeo shocks out.
Thanks in advance.
