Does the United States has the rule where imported cars 15 years and older do not have to comply with DOT, EPA, and NHTSA?

Please reply with any imformation

I think that 15year rule isn't applicable in the U.S., its applicable in canada apperently but not in the U.S. :p thats what i've been told anyway.

For the US, it is a 25 year rule. So Canada can get the nice cars 10 years earlier then the US!

you can import cars from canada if you want to. but it will still be US illegal if you brought a skyline down. my godzilla is available for import in august to canada. i already purchased it, and am going to drive it back down. i called the DOT and they put my name on file saying that i have a car and it is not legalized but it will be in 6-12 months or it will be crushed.

ya thats how i plan on getting mine next year, and the great thing is that it will only cost me about 20,000 cdn for a r32 gtr, oh man i cant wait. but the thing with canada is that we cant bring up any of the skylines that you guys get in the states (through motorex), but the good thing is that we also dont have to change them, just as long as they pass a safety check there ready to go
