NoS

Guys, another question. Let's just say I want tp put in a 75 or 100 shot. I wud have to retard the timing by about 2-4 degrees.
My plan is that I am only gonna use this on the track, coming out of slow corners and also at those turns leading to long straights.
The problem is this. I am now using the F con and it does not support NoS application. That means if I retard the timing, it wud stay even if the NoS switch is off! Meaning, I wud lose power if I not using NoS. I don't want to change ECU. Is there an electronic wonder which could retard the timing (after being programmed of course) when the laughing gas is being sprayed and wud revert the timing to my non-NoS timing when NoS is not used?
I know Haltech n Motec ecus cud automatically do this. Is there an outboard thingy which cud do the same?

There are piggy back ECUs that will do that with your stock ECU, but I dont know if they would work with the F con

If you run a 50shot, you should not need to run a colder plug, or reduce your timing. A 50 shot on a turboed car will net you around 75-100hp anyways. It will have to be a direct port, or those new injector sleeves that combine the N2O with your injector port.
Which turbo application are we talking, the new 2530s?

I forgot to add, with a 100 shot your going to have to run a big ass bottle, or 2 10lbs to last a while. Which means more weight.

Thanks Sky. Am actually thinking of installing it together with the 2530s later in the year. But it's just a thought. The immediate thing to do now is to install the 2530s and do up my g/box. I am now looking at various ratio offered by OS Giken. The plan is to probably find a short ratio for 2nd/3rd and 4th while maintaining the stock ratio for 1st and 5th. With those things done, the car will be retuned. The NoS may or may not come after that.

Nope Raysoh. There is no law which prevents the usage of NoS on or of the road. Racing regulations however restrict its usage, but not the law.

Remember you can never use NoS, NoS is a company. You can use N2O :p

Just to elaborate on one of the points made here for a sec. It is VERY important that you have a direct port setup on your GTR. The front facing plenum has far from even distribution of the inlet charge and can cause engine-melting problems when nitrous is introduced from a single point.
On my gts-t this is much less of a problem and i run a 75hp wet shot introduced immediately before the throttle body.
I reckon run more boost on a better prepared motor rather than lug a big-ass bottle of n2o around the track but that's just the whining of a straight line racer :D
Can I also suggest you look into the newer HKS GT-SS turbines which offer similar response to 2530's but similair power to 2540's. Awesome circuit turbines.
