Ranger clutch line removal

I'm tring to swap the 5 speed transmission in my 1992 Ranger, and I can't get the line disconnected that operates the clutch. Can someone tell me how to get this done?

if you look on the line, right where it goes into the bell housing, there should be a fitting. inside that fitting should be a plastic collar, possibly white in colour. Push that collar in, and pull out on the line at the same time, this should release the spring clip holding the line in, and allow it to be removed.
