2003 Jetta Speakers

I have a 2003 Jetta GL w/o the monsoon system. I was wondering if its possible to mount two speakers in the trunk, on the upper part? And if so how do you take off the top carpeted panel in the back window. What size would that be too? ok two more questions. In the trunk on both sides of the trunk, there are two velcro doors that open up to a box with some plugs and wire connectors. What are those?

I own a 2003 Jetta GLS. Mine has two speakers already mounted inside the trunk that face up toward the back window. So, if you don't already have speakers located there, you should be able to mount some there. Not sure what might be needed to mount them though. As far as the two compartments go, one is for a CD changer and the other is a storage compartment.

The gls model has another harness for the monsoon stereo system along with an amplifier that the gl doesnt. You would have to install a wiring harness for a monsoon system to have those speakers.
