ok i'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. My friend and i put gauges in his old avenger and we bumped the gas gauge and it stopped working...then i did the same thing to my eclipse(95) and the fuckers did the same thing. i had to get my car re-alined so i took it in to one of my buddies and he said he didnt' know if he fixed it or not...well he actually did....kinda...instead of goin all the way up to full it goes up to 3/4 tank and then drops down way past empty....anyone had this prob or know any solutions???

Try this... next time you fill up your gas tank, manually push it up or down to the "F".

sounds like you just didnt put it back on right, when you put them back on the car should be on. Then you should put the needles back exactly where they were before you took them off.

What you will have to do is fill up the car to full. Then remove the needle and put it back on the post while the car is running. This will solve your problem. Just remember...it is better to be a little low with your placement than high (so you don't run out of gas). You should be able to remove the needle by pulling it straight up. If you have problems with that just use the curved end of 2 spoons and pry up (carefully) on both sides of the base of the needle. Good luck!

either way with the gas needle, the low fuel light will come on reguardless of where the needle is. The car could care less where the needle is.

don't just go and pull the needle off the post with spoons.

take out the cluster and take it appart. take off the fuel/temp cluster or if you got a n/t the fuel part. readjust all the parts so they are in the right place. make sure you have a full tank and then after you adjust it to where you think it should be, plug the cluster back in with the cover off and let it register as full, or see where it goes and readjust it from the internals of the gauge.
