I have a 95 gt, with standard tranny. Whenever i take off, if i get on it, my tires lose traction, and i have to let off. It'll do it in first and second. Ive even shifted when the tires starts slipping, but it doesnt really help. Is this something that all mustangs face? Are there any kind of suspension or rear end upgrades that will help? The car is still stock, since i want to get my traction right before i add more hp. I have nitto 555r's all the way around. Its eating the rear ones up.
Also, the cheapest site ive found for the nitto's is 115 a pop, any1 know any other site. Or is there a better tire to go with. They were on the car when i bought 'em, and i dont know if i should go with them again or not?
This may or may not play a role, but if i go over a hard bump, like when a bridge is connected to a road, and they did a shitty job ( i live in alabama, so) and if some1 is in back, it sounds like the shock or something is "bottoming out" I dont think its the car, since its still at stock height. Could something be worn out thats causing me to lose traction? It has about 140000 miles on it. I dont know if any of the suspension has been replaced. Sorry for all the questions, its just bugging me. Thx again!!!

You have 555R's all the way around? Why would you use those drag radials on the fronts? I personally think my Nitto's have helped a lot with my traction problems, and my car is far from stock. You might want to check to see if your Trac-Lok is still functional, because you might just have one tire spinning, which will make it easier to break loose then if both tires were to be getting power. What size Nitto's are you running?

they were on the front when i bought the car. What kind of front tire should i run?
Also, to check my trac-lok, should i "power break" to see if one tire is spinning, or is there a better way to see if it is working?

would regular tires actually work better on front, or are u just saying that its a waste of money to have drag tires on front?

There is no point for drag radials on the front when the car is rear wheel drive.
Also your running 17" rims, so your not going to get the same type of traction someone with 15" rims and drag radials will get. Just simple because the side wall is a lot smaller and stiffer on a 17" rim.

is there any advantage to having 17" wheels, as far as performance goes. Also do i need to run same size tire on the front, since its a street car.

with my wheels, is there a better size to be running on the rear?
