well you have to think is the hp and look really , worth it?!?! Buyin the hood and the box, but also gettin hood painted. If you got the coin for it go to it. but ive only done a few searches for Ram Air and the prices didnt differ much. goood luck!! :)

Personally...I don't think I would have bought my TA if it didn't have ram air...Just the Look of it and the looks of all the heads turning when you drive by will be worth it alone.

Ram air is worth the price just for the look! I'm in the same situation as you and I've been researching hoods for a few weeks now. If you go to ramairhood.com you can have the hood, air box, and hood painted all for $1285 and delivered right to your door.

yea on ebay you can get fiberglass ram air hoods all day for $500 brand new i dont know the quality though. then its like 75-150 for shipping and then painting so i dont know but i think i would just spend 1200 on making my car a lot faster instead of just a little. but i guess it depends on if you want looks or not i do but id rather smoke more imports then look good.

It is worth it. I recently purchased a ram air hoof for my 99 firebird just so i could liven up the look b\c base firebirds are no cosmetic match for the WS-6 TA, much less a performance match. Another pro about the ram air hood besides looking good is it will open up your engine more. Allowing more air to come through the intake system and more air to help cool your engine. Unless you live in like the desert. You could probably gain up to 7 horses just by opening up your engine more with a ram air hood. Now 1200 bucks for only 7 horses doesn't sound appealing, but it is just another one of those small bonus features that adds to the real reason you buy the hood. The hood itself looks wicked awesome. Go for it.

I believe it to be worth the money to get a ram air hood. I plan on getting one someday because I like the agressive look it'll give my car, the few hp it'll add are just a bonus.

FWIW, these guys have a painted ram air hood with air box and high flow filter for $1,285 ($1,135 sale price):

They claim you don't have to fit it first or anything either; pretty much ready to install right out of the box. I'll probably be going with these guys unless somebody knows of a better place to get one.

nope thats the cheapest ive seen them besides used ones at junkyards
also i was wondering how water doesnt get sucked through the filter when it rains, and wouldnt that do something to the MAF sensor if it did.
and i still need to find that MAF for $180 fat tom or did you mess up on the price if you did thats cool but you did give my hopes up, cause i need some cheap quick mods because we race in chicago and i lost to this 1st gen eclipse gsx with a fairly large front mount and new turbo two times and im very pissed and humiliated. but he did run a 13.2 at the track but i need to beat him soon.

if y'all do purchase a hood, let me know. I only need the hood and want to know how the fit/finish/paint is. I wouldn't mind having one on my car, but don't need the airbox.
