New R32

Well, i am the new proud owner of a skykline r32 GTR that is on its way to the U.S. Well, i am not going to release the details of how i am getting it in, or how its being fixed for the u.s. but its on the way. Does anyone have any tuning tips? It has an intake, turbo back Kakimoto Exaust and FMIC. Im looking for about 450 HP, it should be putting down 300-330. Any reccomendations on boost controller and ECU?

anyway, ask a moderator on these forums here called RazorGTR, he's got a mean R32 GTR, he'll tell you what you need to know besides the basics of aftermarket intercooler, headers, suspension, boost controller etc......

If you are bypassing the EPA, DOT, NHSA, etc, I am pretty sure the car is illegal. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, we know there are loopholes, but the loopholes do not cover the car for bybassing the DOT, EPA, NHSA, etc. If the car is found, it will be crushed. You have to get caught, of course.

I would spend the money on a Apexi PowerFC, and a commander. Upgrade to at least 600cc injectors, instal some 2510s, and get a dyno tune. Apexi air filters, and any good aftermarket exhause at least 3" will do. You should see about 450 to the wheels, with a very good power curve.

loopholes like importing it for race/show/offroad uses...thats it. and even then its still not US legal, it will be here on a temporary bond. im sure these guys on here know tons more about the sky than you, especially razorGTR, vquick, and skylineUSA. you HAVE to go through motorex (possibly RB) to have a completly US STREET LEGAL CAR.

Yes, you can bring the car in, and get the car registered and bypass the Gov't, but it still will be illegal.

Oh, so the car is being brought in by a RI, ICI, and will be going through the EPA, DOT, Customes, and the NHSA? Which RI, Motrex? They are the only ones that can do it as of right now? If that is a No, the the car will not be legal, FULL STOP!

he didnt say whether it was going through motorex or not. in any shape or form the car HAS to go through motorex. if you get it imported through another RI and they comply it, you still have to pay motorex the 15-25k to approve it. or else its not legalized. its not worth doing the work yourself because you end up paying the same price to comply it and authorize it a VIN and everything.

It WILL be legal, Motorex or not.

BTW, Motorex doesn't "approve" shit. They just happen to be the company with the government approval to "Americanize" Skylines, just as Ameritech was for McLaren F1s. The "approval" comes from the government.

Motorex DOES approve shit. they dont do it themselves, but you have to go through them to get it approved. you send it to them, they check that all legalization has been done (if you did it or had someone else do it), and if not, they finish it. you still have to pay 15-25k if youve done the work or not, they do the paperwork for the government and noone else can do it. they have to MAKE SURE the work has been done, and APPROVE that is done correctly.

As for the cliams a skyline is being brought in with out the aid of Motorex I will belive it when I see it.

It has been well shown that Motorex is currently the only way of legaly getting a skyline into the US and useing it on the raod.

If that information is false then we need to see some proof.
