please recommend a good suspension setup for me

I was talking to a friend of mine, and he was sayin drift cars make poor daily drivers, cuz the mods necessary would cause handling to be too loose for snow and rain. Yep, here on the east coast we gotta deal with that. I think he's right but can anyone confirm that? Seems like you have to make the handling looser for a better drift car. I am interested in better handling and comfort a lot more than drifting. Like...I want to hit the curves kinda fast and not really hear my tires screech (if that's possible) or go over a bump and not fly up and knock my head against the roof. If I can get good drifting and tighter control and comfort outta a particular setup, that's what I'm looking for. However, if I have to choose one or the other, I'd take comfort and better handling anyday. Can anyone recommend a good suspension setup for me?

i think someone has been playing gt3 drifting waaaaaay too much.

i guess you can consider my car a drift car, seeing as how its he only car i session with. but its also my dd.

plus, not all drifters hav the same supension settings, so theres no such thing as a standard.

anyway, i really don't care all that much about how my car drifts if any setting allows for drifting. i just want a comfortable and smooth ride, that's about it. if anyone has driven a bmw before, that's the kinda ride i want from the setup i'm hoping for. so if i get the teins, do i want a stiffer setting or a softer setting? sorry, i'm a suspension retard :(

you want a smooth ride, buy brand new oem shocks and springs

When modifying suspention, the basic trade off is Handling vs. Comfort, most people tighten up and drop their cars to improve handling while reducing comfort somewhat.

The tighter suspention generally makes bumps in the road bounce you around more because less of the force is absorbed by the shocks, most people here (me included) probably don't mind this very much because this does greatly improve cornering and response and probably launching of the car.

I actually don't know of any one (who doesn't drive an SUV or a lincon town car) that has actually loosened their car up from the stock settings.. Doing so is gonna make it feel like you're driving on a trampoline or something.. You might just want to keep yours stock, I drive my 240 daily and I have no complaints regarding the comfort at all.

EDIT: And it's my understanding that moding your car for drifting would include tightining the suspention not loosing it.

i think he means it will make the car loose...aka free feeling...same thing as oversteer just loose is what most nascar racers call it

damn....handling vs. comfort.yeah...i guess handling is more important for the 240 than comfort. i mean, the car doesn't even have a cup holder, so i guess a sportier suspension would be better than a more comfortable one.
okay, so the last thing i want is to make the car loose/free feeling. i hate nascar. i guess mods i need for tighter control are get an infiniti lsd, sway bars, strut bars, and maybe coilovers. right or wrong?
