Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. I have an '02 M3 and its an incredible car. I have been reading about Audi's latest offerings though and I wonder if BMW should consider going to AWD. I almost alwyas drive with the DSC on just in case. I see the DSC light blinking every so often and know I probably would have ended up spinning if I had it off. With all that power at the rear wheels, the rear end can break traction pretty easily. With all four wheels driving, power woud be transferred to the pavement much better. Yes, I know that the M3 still whoops the S4 in acceleration but you have to admit it is a sure-footed car. Another thing is (and don't kill me fo this) What is wrong with using a blown engine? MB has been putting out some kick butt cars lately and the power benefits are great. Superchargers don't have a lag time like turbos and they seem to work well on the V8-Kompressor engines. Let me know what you guys think.

M3 would whip it overall i think but the S4's little turbo may make it a bit hard to accomplish this all the time depending on the driver, But i have heard that BMW has a few all wheel frive models i think its like the IX series maybe im mistaken.

The new S4 doesn't use a turbo. They went to a naturally aspirated V-8. The turbo charges one was the previous generation with the 2.7 Turbo V6. I just think that 4WD really helps put the power to the pavement and speeds up the corner exits. I know about the xi's but I don't think any M3's have ever used that system.

Wait a second doesnt the new S4 have a v6 biturbo? or was that last years model?

Because i know the S4 used to use a turbo, it was like a 2.3 liter or something to that effect.

The previous generation did have a 2.7 liter V-6 turbo. It used the same engine as the A6 2.7 T. They swapped out that engine and stuffed a naturally aspirated V-8 in it. M3 is still quicker in acceleration though!!!

yeah i think the Biturbo i was referring to was the RS6.

RS6 engine is bad*ss. That would be something if they could cram that into the S4. a V-8 with 340 HP is nothing to sneer at but 450 HP would be CRAZY for a car that size. That should put out low 4 second 0-60 times. Maybe in the near future.

Its funny most of the body styles for the audis are very similar. Like the old S4 im talking about the URS4 It has the same body style as the A6 when the line was first started. What id wan to see is if i could port over some porsche stuff, it would fit.

ADDS 700 HORSES??? Holy CR^P!!! What the hell is the boost pressure? I wouldn´t think an engine could be upgraded to that extent and not without blowing.
