carbon fiber hood question

i ordered a carbon fiber hood for my 96 honda civic, it uses the factory latches on the car but has to be pinned down on the front, now my dad owns a body shop but he has never drilled a carbon fiber hood, i here it is pretty difficult. Is there any way around that like being able to use the latch at the front.

Two of my friends have cf hoods and they both use the factory latches.
The pins are just for looks in my opinion. That's just my :2cents:

Where did you order your hood from? Most hoods these days come with holes drilled so that you transfer the front latch from your factory hood to your CF one.

well i ordered it from a store here in new york called east coast speed, it uses the stock latches and the hood is predrilled for that but tehre are no holes int he front for pins so i have to drill them, i was wondering if anyone had a tutorial or something on how to install hood pins, like how to drillt he holes and where the pins mount to under the hood?

PINS ARE NOT JUST FOR LOOKS!! WE ALWAYS JUST MEASURE WHERE WE WANT THE PINS, MARK IT THEN USE MASKING TAPE AROUND IT, SO U DONT SCRATCH THE HOOD. IF YOU WANT TO TRUST SOMEONE ELSE'S LAY UP WORK TO HOLD YOUR $500 HOOD DOWN WITH THE LATCH GO AHEAD. I WOULD USE THE PINS AND THE LATCH.

BTW: Hamster, turn off your caps lock

My vis hood came with the proper hardware and had all the components of a stock hood such as the d-latch holder in placer thingy.

Hood pins must be used for road use. I have seen it too many times a hood flying off of a car on the highway for not using hood pins.
