strange starting problem

I'm having a problem with an 1989 chevy 4.3. It takes a long time to start when it's cold. It cranks for about 30 seconds. When it does start it runs fine, and when it warms up it won't start at all. You can crank it untill the battery goes dead. But it will start after it sits about 10 minutes. the funny thing is, if you get it rolling and pop the clutch, it fires right up. I'm stumped. Any ideas would really be appreciated.

sounds like it is not turning fast enough. If you can pop the clutch and get it to start. Try a new battery and connections on the starter.

unplug your coolant sensor next to the thermostat and see if it starts right up. it will make it hard starting. also if ypur sparkplugs have too large of a gap it will fuss.
