Well i guess I get what I paid for, i tried to go the cheap way for replacing my Y-pipe that had some burn damage, poor stock plastic piece of shit got all burned up. Well, i bought a seemingly "nice" Y-pipe off of ebay, and to my dismisay when I got it home, it wasnt flared or lipped at the ends, I said damnit, i doubt this will hold. Sure as hell it didnt, I even went and bought more hose clamps, I doubled up the clamps on every pipe to the Y. Still didnt hold. Went to like 3 different exhaust shops, nobody can put flares or lips on the damn thing, Meineke could only do the small openings, but not the large one that goes to the throttle body. And they wanted $34 for those small flares, I was like FUCK THAT! I need the big one flared the most, and i sure as hell aint paying that shit. But, that is ironic, because Im gonna have to spend the $200 fucking dollars on a DN perfromance Y-pipe....O well, it will be sweet and I know that fucker isnt ever gonna blow off. We'll, I guess what im saying is, DONT BUY THE SEEMINGLY "GOOD DEAL" Performance Y-pipes off Ebay, fuck that shit, unless they are DN, or they are flared, leave them the hell alone.

Matt- I have the same problem! The pipe from Ebay is too slippery and the pressure forces it to "slide" off the pipe. I have tightened the snot out of the clamps-no luck..Talk about blow off... maybe we can rough up the ends of the pipe to make it slide resistant?? Any help out there?

I would suggest either getting a really nice DN Y-pipe or going to a machine shop and having the ends "flared" out, or widened so that the hoses fit over them snuggly and then clamp behind the lip so that it cannot come off, Im either going to hit up a machine shop or just buy a new pre-flared pipe, but if you want to save time, buy the pre-flared, if you want to save a few dollars, buy the E-bay and have it machined.
