Has anybody ever setup a stereo system where all the subs were on one side of the car?? I have 3 12" subs, and they are discontinued, so I can't get more. I'm trying to figure out an awesome way to fiberglass the trunk to get my 3 subs, 2 amps, a 17" spare tire and a bunch of tools back there with room to spare. I'm wondering how the 3 subs would sound mounted all on the drivers side of the car, the amps on the passenger side and the spare tired angled up against the seat, then i could put the tools in the spare tire spot under a trap door. Any ideas??

leave the amps on the back of the seat and have the 3 subs wrap around the back of the seat and have the spare *is it the same as the rims on your car?* glassed infront of the subs recessed in the floor

eliminate the back seat, toss a wall in ur car behind the front seats, and u have all the room u could possibly want in the trunk

Sound from subs travel outward from the subs in all directions equally and pass through just about everthing without much change in sound paturns. Glass and metal covered in sound deadening material does slow them down some. 3 subs on one side should sound fine.

Good luck with that man LOL... I think it'd look weird having all 3 subs on one side, but that's just me.
What I would do is build a false floor with a hatch-door for the spare, have an amp and sub on the left, an amp and sub on the right, and a sub mounted behind the back seats in a long thin box so you can keep it thin but still get the cu. volume that you need.
And, depending on what kind of tools you want to put back there, you could build something that would fit snugly inside the spare tire and houses your tools... like they would all be recessed individually into some kind of covered foam mold. kinda like how they would sit in a ratchet set case kinda like this guy did:

I've been seriously considdering doing something like that in my car (the tool part).

Another idea I just thought of is to mount your amps to the trunk lid, and beef up the torsion bars for the trunk hinges.

yeah but 90civicrider, thats not really space efficient for using the trunk, thats what he's lookin for (plus its a 4door)

Actually, I'm thinking of something like these two pics - the second one is a 3d rendering of what I'm thinking except the triangle will have rounded edges instead of corners.

In a city about an hour away from where I live there is this guy at a car audio shop who has a blue 4g4d with a wall behind his front seats. He took out his windows and molded the whole rear so there is only the front 2 doors, no back doors or windows. He's got like 6 subs or so behind his front seats but the whole thing looks like it was done crappy. The whole car itself IMO just looks like shit.

Looks cool (especially the first pic), but doesn't that eliminate any location for your spare tire?

ya, it does - but with it covered like that I can probably just put the spare tire on top, and or make a little mount that will hold it up just a little so it doesn't leave marks on the carpet. We'll see.
