Removing front rotors

Well, I was in the process of changing both my drive axles (damn CV boots) and figured that while I was in the process to do my brakes as well. So I got the rotors and everything was fine until I tried to get the hub (is that what it is?) off. I got the axle nut off, the caliper, everything. The rotor just floats there between the back and the hub. The hub doesn't budge, all bolts are removed. I've hammered the rotor a little to try and bust the hub free, but no success. Can it only be removed by a special tool?

Need help fast.

Are you talking about that little plate? Take a punch and put it along the side and gently nudge it out with a hammer.

Are they two peice rotors? What kind of car is it? What year?

oops, sorry for not posting the year and make. It's a 96 Honda Accord LX 5spd, no ABS and the 2.2 4cyl.

Doesn't seem like it's a two piece rotor. But I was reading somewhere else and found out the hubs are pressed in.

There are a bunch of (detailed) threads on this. Try a search.

This worked for me.

This doesn't just take the hub off so you wont have to replace it at all.
