First question. What is the stock rim size for the 93 honda civic ex. The guy i bought my ex from says it had 15's on it. But he put 17's on it, decided to sell the car, sold the rims first, lost the " original " 15's, so he put 14's on it. I lowered the car 2.5 to 3 inches. I race occassionally at the track, and want to know...To be faster should i stay with the 14 or 15 inch stock rim and stock tire size, or stock rim with semi low profiles, or move up to a 16 inch with low pro's? I get off the line pretty quick but around 50-60 the car seems to die off. Someone told me that the tire size has a lot to do with it. My quickest time was a 10.3 in the 1/8 and i'm just curious if the sizeing will cahnge anything. Sorry so long, and if the question is old, just need the info. Thanks. :banghead: :eek7:

stick with the 14's, but try to fit a wider tire on there. Falken Azenis come in a 195-65-14. I think that is the tire size, can't remember too well, but I had those on my old civic and they are grippy as hell. Or, you might wanna get a set of aftermarket 14's or 15's cause you'll be able to find some that are lighter than your current 14" steelies. It's all up to you and how much money you have.
BTW: it came from the factory with 14" steelies and wheelcovers.

There are some companies that make rims that weigh only about 12lbs each or less. so if you can get some grippy tires your all set.

Which company would you go with for light weight and looks. Really not wanting to pay over $700. And how much do you think the steelies weigh? Found out the civic is suppossed to have 65 series instead of the 70's that are on it now. No wonder they rub  :banghead:

Went to edgeracing.com and found that Falken has ZEIX ZE-512 205/60/14 tires. Could i get these to fit on stock or aftermarket rims and if so would they rub because of the wider tire? :sorry:

I really like Rota wheels. Check them out here www.jaydm.com. They are cast wheels, but are lightweight and look good and are pretty durable and the best part, they are CHEAP!
As for the 205/60/14s. That's a pretty wide tire for a 14. My suggestion would be to look at the Rotas and buy a set as your daily driver wheels. Then buy 2 of the falkens and mount them on your steelies and use those for when you hit the track. You may want to actually get grippier tires for that if you want a dedicated drag set.
If that's out of your price range, pick up a set of Rotas and search the net for some sticky sticky tires. I really like the Bridgeston S-03 pole positions, they will be the next tire I purchase most likely, or the Falken Azenis. And go with 15's.

I say rotas. They look sweet, they are light, and cheap and durable. what else could you ask for
i also think rota c-10 are a bit nicere, but they are not as light

go with 15's on a hb or 16's on a coupe/sedan... my opinion... they look best plus physics prove it to be more effective for higher speeds! :)
