engine idle speed

How do I adjust the idle speed on a 1986 chev 350 with elec choke? I need to know so I can time the engine.
Any advice would be appreciated.

make sure the engine is warm and the choke is fully open. also make sure the fast idle cam is disengaged. now turn the adjust the stop screw on the throttle linkage
