Hi, I am new to this forum and have a question. I have a 95zj and want to know if there are relays under the glove box. And if so how do I get to them. My alarm system does not work, I checked the fuses and they are fine so I was wondering if it might be a relay?

On 93 gc's they are in "false bottom" of glove box. will see small cloth string on bottom of glove box. Pull up. relays to the right. Daytime lamp connector left of that. Security alarm module(SAM) to the left of that.
Not absolutely sure this holds for 95.
Security system is similar though.
what is actual prob with alarm? indications? etc.

It just does not work. I have the little red light on the dash which does nothing, but I thought it might be for keyless entry. I bought a keyless entry off ebay and it works fine. So I logged on to daimlerchrysler and put in my vin# and asked what options came with my jeep and the security system was one of them. I checked the fuses and they are all good, I've heard about relays under the glove box and was wondering if that might be the problem. I do not have a string to pull up in the glove box like yours, only screws that hold on the door of the box. I'm trying to figure this out without going to the dealer because they want $80 just to look at it. Since I have the alarm it would be nice to have it work. Any help would be appreciated.

You say keyless works good. I assume you mean you can open/close doors with it. If you can, alarm should be working. Alarm is mostly passive. I.E. Goes off upon entry. Get in Jeep, close door, arm with remote and open door. Alarm should go off: honk/flash. Hit unlock on remote and should disarm. If not, program with the following:
1. Put key in ign. Leave in off.
2. Open driver door, leave open throughout.
3. Manually push door lock button to "lock" position, not using electric
door locks, just manually push lock button.
4. Turn ign to "run" position.
5. Within 20 seconds, hold lock button on remote till remote LED flashes
twice and electric door locks cycle on /off.
6. Within 20 seconds, push manual door lock back to "lock" position and
press "lock" button on 2nd remote till it flashes twice and locks cycle
again.
7. Turn ign key to "off" position within 20 seconds.
Try both remotes and see if they work.
Hope this helps,

does the SECURITY (redlight) flash when u lock the doors using the power locks or Keyless entry, and shut the door... if it does then it is activated, if it stays on w/ no flash. then one of the Sensors are not engaged properly. my guess would be the one in the hood, on the passenger side. it is right next to the hood bump stop. I had this probel, the black plastic block (mounted on the passenger side of the hood) was not big enough to push the sensor down far enough to engage the alarm, hense the reason the lite would stay on for about aminute, now it flashes and arms. I just glued a 1/8" think piece of plastic against the other one.
