Hey I have a 97 Z28 and the serpentine belt really need to be replaced. I know that i have to loosen a bolt somewhere and something will swig forward to release the belt but i just don't know where or what size bolt i'm looking for. If anyone could link me with a pic of what i'm looking for or link with directions (god knows i've looked), or hell, if you know how give me your own directions :)
Thanks
Thanks

look for a wheel that doesn't appear to be powering anything. what i mean is it isn't attacted to an alternator, air conditioning or anything else. that is called a tensioner, what you do is turn the bolt on the center of the pulley and the tensioner will move away from the belt in a swinging motion and take the tension off of the belt. with the tension off the belt it will come right off.

their is not a bolt but a square hole for your ratchet to fit in to buy a hanes or chilton manual for your car at the parts store where you get your belt
