How do you guys mount the sub/amp. I know you pull the carpet then do you drill holes and screw it down? Thanks

I drill holes and screw in the amp. I screw in the sub. Look around and find some specials screws if you are worried about it getting stolen. You probably will want to drill holes for the sub. I never cared enough to do so.

So you just start drilling in the frame or sides of the car???

Ah, you need to know what is under what you are drilling. Since I installed mine in the back of my rear seat it really didn't matter to me what was there.

Dude... don't screw your box in, bad Idea. I let if fly free. umm if you don't want it to move get bungie cords or L brackets

yeah, my HC15 hit my back seat. The quality you would loose probably in going to a smaller box would prove most disappointing. What size box is it anyhow? How many speakers? Which ones?

well its those crappy $50 sonys.. they DO push 350 watts rms each, but im only putting 300 thru them, but im using my friends amp, im guna check prices downtown tomoro for an amp from 275-325rms x 2 most likely i will get a 300 rms x 2 amp.. and the subs only have one 4 ohm voice coil, so.. they pretty much suck, and the box it self has 2 sides, like it completely blocks off one sub from the other, but thats how my old box was.. so yea

dividers in the boxes are great. Resonaters are harder to make right, but can sound just as good. This is where your problem about RMS matching seems to come in. Sony way over rates their equipment, lemme hook you up with an amp. Hold on. http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/db1100.htm Set the gains on this amp and you should be fine. Upgrade the system piece by piece. I know you don't have the cash for everything right now, but this is the cheapest decent amp you can get. to push the kind of power you will eventually want. I would suggest upgrading to two 12k,o, or A series subs. I would also look at getting a better box done for you. I can make a custom box for you, but it will cost you about 200 for 2 12"s. I can help you with design for free if you feel you want to venture out and make your own box.

well the thing is right now, i kinda of have a plan, most of the stuff i have right now is borrowed from my friend, he isn't using any of his amps or anything, but hes buying subs/speakers soon, so i will need to get myself some stuff, i only work part time so my paycheck is pretty sorry, so when i buy, i gotta look around n think twice ya know? anyways.. im planning to buy a 4 channel amp temporarily, probably from 60-75 rms x 4 @4 ohms, and from 250-325x 2 @ 4 ohm like i said, they can temporarily replace my amp, so my friend can use my amp, yea its pretty complicated, but im just lookin for the perfect amp/sub/sub box combo right now, something loud (atleast loud enough to make my ears ring n set off car alarms to piss people off lol) and good quality, so even when i dont have it turned up the bass sounds nice.. im buying one part at a time, i'll have it done soon

please save yourself and at least get a class D mono amp to power your subs. Please don't buy a 2 channel amp. I can do about 380 total shipped for both those amps. sound good? not exactly sure on that price, but that is about what it is.

#2 to power my speakers when i get them
