I have a 2000 Silverado Ext. Shortbed 4.8 V8. I wanted to get a nice dual exhause cat back system for my truck. I want something that sounds mean but not too nasty. The two brands that interested me were Gibson and Boral. Any Suggestions? I was also going to get a K&N FIPK intake. How much of a change will I notice in Accelleration with these two new additions to my truck?

the intake shoud be quite abit. I just pulled the maf screen on mine with stock intake and k&n drop in and it helped alot so the fipk shoud be impressive. Not as sure about cat back as mine was already installed so I can't really tell you about improvement but I'm sure it helped.

K&N air filter and Flowmaster 40 series muffler with 3 1/2" tips. You can't go wrong with that combo.

I was wondering if anyone has a Gibson extreme dual exhaust and if they like it.

to go with your K&n intake i would recommend the Flowmaster Super 40. i got mine on my truck about a week ago, and its nice... it gets you more horses and torque yet it sounds a lot smoother than the original 40 series. you really should look into it...

MY truck sounds sweet under acceleration but not too obnoxious. My favorite has to be the classic flowmaster rumble. =)
