got boost?

if u want a fast car, boost is one of the ways to go, if u want a super fast 8 or 9 sec car, boost is the only way to go. :2cents:

i have this in the integra and forced induction forum, but i just can't forget about it to all the racers with the beloved crx, heres a post i had made so u can get some info on the kit. if anyone is interested let me know, im getting mine by the end of this month.

post from forced induction forum:
well just look at it this way, a ceramic ball bearing alone is going to cost bit over a grand. retail for this kit is from 3899.00 to 4950.00, but these prices are way out of my league. right now i should be getting the complete kit which includes everything even a free case a their turbonetics synthetic motor oil, well i'll just put a copy of what u'll get below. the prices will be about 2500.00 plus 50 dollar shipping and a 7.50 shipping insurance required, this is basically half off and your getting very high quailty products at a very low price. even the air filter is from k&n, these guys sure did their homework, and what would u expect from a company who makes one of the best if not the best turbos in the world.

Kit Contents ...
Ceramic Ball Bearing Turbocharger (T3/T4 Hybrid or Custom T04E)
Spearco Intercooler System
Powder-Coated Intercooler Piping
Silicone Hose / T-Bolt Clamps
Exhaust Manifold - high carbon cast-steel with ceramic coating
Fuel / Timing Controller (electronic fuel / timing management system)
Fuel Injectors
"Evolution" Wastegate Assembly
"Raptor" By Pass / Blow Off Valve Assembly
Mandrel-bent ceramic coated Downpipe with closed-loop wastegate discharge
Intake System with Air Filter
All necessary Hardware, Hoses, and Fittings
Free Case of Turbonetics TS-1 Synthetic Motor Oil
MSRP: from $3,899.00 to $4,950.00

if u think about it, this is the best upgrade for the price. to swap in a b18c1 now a days is about +4500.00 and all u get is 30 more hp then the b18b1. on the other hand, a bit over 2 grand with this method can get u about 80 hp, thats pretty unbeatable. of course there is still going to be all these guys who is going to waste all their money getting little aftermarket products that would get them 1-2 hp. pretty lame if u ask me, but hey, its thier decision not mine.

wow im surprised, i've gotten emails from most of the other forums but not here yet. if i still had my rex the one i had to do was go turbo. just curious, are alot of you guys hurting for money or something? i just want to repeat, 2500 for an extra 70 hp is pretty cheap, not to mention this kit is good for 400-450 hp after stronger internals.

heres a pic of the kit:

So, you're suprised that people aren't buying things from you?

Shouldn't you be on e-bay or something trying to sell this shit? If I were a mod, I'd lock this thread.

Ummm.. Actually the "way to go" would be a crazy ass suspension setup and a sub 1800lbs car. You're trying to tell people that their anywhere in this league because they're buying some cheap bolt-on turbo kit is such a farce.. You can't compare 8-9 second cars with the turbo kit you're marketing for an "80hp" gain..

if i used forced induction on my 89 crx dx. i'd blow the engine within a few minutes.

people don't just choose engine swaps over forced induction for more power, they also like the fact that they usually have a lot less km on the engine. and i could do a b16a swap for lets say 3grand amer. and not only would i have 68 more hp but i would also have about 100 000 less miles.

listen man, im trying to help guys out who can't afford a kit like this that normally cost 4000-5000. im not a seller, and i don't own a business so lay off, im just like anyone of you regulars in here, the difference is that im trying to hook up people who wants to go fast like me.

about the 8 or 9 sec comment, i didn't say get this kit and you will have a 8 or 9 sec car, this comment was a general statement which i also separated b4 going on about the kit, and it's true, there is no other way to get into the 8's and 9's without turbo.

ok i see your point in the miles, that is the reason im not turbocharging this integra you see there in my sig, it's going to be in a 3rd gen dc2. i've got 148k as of right now and its still running strong, but i would rather start from scratch with barely any miles. i just figured the rex should be the first candidate for turbocharging due to its weight and of course it is, but that just mean more money for a newer engine if u got the funds.

another thing, i just checked on the turbonetics website and they don't have a kit for the 91 and below crx's or civic's. kinda sad if u ask me, but i guess most of their revenue is coming from the newer tegs and civics. :disappoin

I appreciate the info man, I really do, even tho it doesnt apply to me and I'm gonna just piece together a turbo kit myself. But I do appreciate it, however, we have a classified ad, so that we dont get mad crazy offers to buy things all the time, so if you dont mind, next time you do this, post it in the classifieds bro, thanks

You mean this hasn't been locked yet?

Geez.... maybe some of us here aren't all about the speed :P... I know I'm sure as hell not.... I swapped in a 1.5liter engine rated at 130hp, and although yes it is going to be faster than my stock DX engine, it is also going to retain a good bit of fuel economy. Which is a good thing for $3+ gas prices.

thanks for showing some love man. supercharging is great for a course track for lets say an autocross due to the fact that they are always boosted, but if u want fast timeslips at the 1320's, nothing so far can beat the efficiency of a turbo @ wot doing high psi's :icon16:.
and of course the sound of the bov is just too sweet.

Close this thread ASAP. If you want to post about this, then just take pics of it and with proof of your ride... Then just say how much you bought it for, and if people really want it, then they'll ask you, just dont go blab about it. We can honestly all tell your either selling them, or trying to sell them for somebody, so stop. Again, close this thread, then find the Teg forum and close that one as welll please..

hey dude stop drinking your hatorade. i have no reason to post in here anymore since the kit doesn't fit this gen of civics so all of us can let this thread die; however, i will defend myself, especially from a new af member who think they can order some one around.

Kind of funny how you bitch me out now, while you edited your post when you say you can get us the kit for such and such price etc. etc. and other stuff like that... It isnt necessary to do that. Also it doesnt matter how long i've been here, or you've been here. Im not bossing anyone around, im just stating my opinion and giving a good reccomendation. Now the MODS wont be able to see what you took out, but atleast you had the mind enough to change it. Just dont bitch back when you take your crap out, because thats immature and faggish.

trans nsx do they make kits for our easier swaps like the b16 or one of the entry level v-tec's, something out of a newer car? or is it that the mounting simply won't work in a 4th gen?

what are you talking about? the kit prices are still there all i did was mention there is a required 7.50 shipping insurance just incase something happens to the kit on its delivery, u should get your facts straight b4 u accused.

oh and yes it does matter how long you been here, i rather take advise from someone whose been here a while, then someone who just came in last month thinking they can just tell people what to do .

first off i just want to tell im u not a seller so i won't try to sucker u in to getting this kit, on the other hand my knowledge on turbos is pretty good so i'll try to help you the best i can. if i can't, then i'll try to get someone who can.

most companies ( rev hard, greddy, drag, and turbonetics) making kits do have them for b16's and entry level vtec motors such as the d16z6 or d16y8. the problem isn't the motor really, but the fitment of the kits onto the vehicle and of course what type of vehicle would bring in more revenue for the company. so far the only kit where its basically a bolt on kit without removing any of the driving luxuries (a/c, power steering) would be from turbonetics. with turbonetics kits', there is also no cutting and fabrication needed for a correct fitment of the turbo and its parts unlike some of the other companies like rev hard or drag.

i built my own turbo for about $900

congratulations if u built your own custom kit man. i too was considering of creating my own but said forget it after contemplating and doing some research. hope everything runs well, but that is the risk you take from making a kit with used parts. the one thing i will never buy is a used turbo, this is the heart of the system and the most expensive. there could be many things wrongs with it such as shaft play or oil leak. i on the other hand would like to get things done right the first time with the best quality products, and if i can get it a lower price, the better.

p.s. u don't have an intercooler, or waste gate, or bov?
