dumb questions

How do I remove my rear view mirror on my 03 taurus. I want to replace it with a gentex mirror with compass, temp, and auto dimming.
Will i luck out and the wiring be in the head liner for the mirror. The dealer tells me it is a toss up whether the wiring was installed on the line. Any ideas would be appreciated.
