Hello to all

Took delivery of my 04 GTP last week. So far I am enjoying the car, but am having regrets about not spending the extra dough for the CompG package and the better sound system. The car came with XM radio, but the base audio system is only "adaquate" at best. For this reason, I doubt I'll continue the subscription after the free trial. My car also came with the polished exhaust pipes, chrome 17s, and body color mesh grill.

I love the power of this car, but the "touring" tires do not provide enough grip for aggressive driving, and there's a bit too much body roll going through the cornors. The ride can get a little choppy going over rough pavement. Still, it's a great highway cruiser with plenty of power for the passing lane.

I signed a 24 mo. lease, so mods are out-of-the-question. My parents bought a base GT1 at the same time, which gave us a a little edge when it came time to arm wressle with the salesman on price.

Overall I think it's a great car, just wish I would have popped for the Comp G. When it finally quits raining, I'll take some pics...

Gary,

I've known plenty GP owners that mod their leased cars. They just keep all the stock parts and swap back at the end of the lease.

I was going to say the same thing. It wouldn't be too much trouble to swap a pulley and an intake on and off once.

Well what the guys are telling you make sense only if they are small mods. Mods like installing the AutoLites 104, 180tstat, 3.4" Pulley , CAI and 8,5mm plugs cables are mods that would add you ~25 uncompromissed horse power and you can install it on other car if you decide to stick with other GP afterwards. Just keep the old parts and install them when returning the car.,

Thanks for the comments. So far, the car only has about 300 mi. on it. If I do decide to do anything, I'll wait until I break it in a bit more. I'm already doing a little research on what my options are. I'm pretty sure that I'll change the tires before I do anything else. Would also like to firm up the suspension. Damn, still kicking myself for not going with the Comp G. I did get a fantastic lease payment though. The timing was real good with all the rebates, and supplier pricing to everyone. This is my first domestic car in quite a few years. Like I said before, I'm liking it very much so far. As promised, I'll try to post a few pics along with the CLK. It's raining yet again in NW Ohio!

Think of it this way: You could get the 04DHP, pulley system, ZZP's cheaper intercooler, CAI, high flow cat, and hopefully get close or into the to 12s for the $1600 you saved. :)

Chris Green in Texas went 12.4 in a leased car. Returned it to stock for this year and bought a 04 oglie orange comp g
