Hey,
Just went through over 9000 items on Ebay and Zip, zilch, nada, nothing for a 1996 grand am. Does any know if/when there were be any projector style or decent after market head light assemblies for the 96-98 Grand ams? I'm so tired of seeing all the stuff they have for hondas and caveliers......SHEEESH.

I have seen a 96-98 model year and a 1999+ model year with projector style headlights, but i couldn't tell ya where they got them. They obviously aren't on the market. My guess is either the people who had them either made the headlights themselves, or they had connections of some sort and had them made (or they did some impressive graphics on the computer to make it like they had them but i seriously doubt that). I believe there is a place in California that does stuff like this, i had found the web page once, since then i haven't been able to find it. I'm sure that it's quite expensive though. Try a google search or something. Good luck

yea those lights you have seen were custom made. i dont remember the site it came from but you take like a peice of clear plastic wire then run light threw it to give you the angle eye effect. you might be thinking of www.aedcentral.com

Thanks for the replys.....It's really too bad there isn't more cool stuff out there for grand ams. They are popular cars and you'd think there would be. Oh well, maybe in a a year or two there will be. I mean you can find things for old astro vans and weird cars like that on e-bay. Surely the grand am deserves to have cool stuff too!

Thanks DP for that sight. It's good and there are some interesting ideas in there but unfortunately, nothing for later models like 1996's :banghead:
Thanks though,
Brad

I finally remembered where i saw those headlights. I saw several Grand Ams on www.Cardomain.com with them. It took me until late last night to remember that. They are homemade headlights, using components from several different types of cars.

Hey grfnkl.....yes, I believe you are right about that on car.domain. BUT.....if I saw what you saw on there, it was just some kind of cut outs that they used to give the look of projector lights.....inserts of some kind put inside the lenses to look like the new rounded lights. I could be wrong, but that is what I remember seeing on there.
Thanks,
Brad

that could be, I haven't looked at the cars there in a while, and normally i'm just looking at what they have done, and if i would want to put something similiar on my car.

Well at least your lucky and don't get the paint fading problem. here in NJ we get the salt from the winter, hot sunny summers and all the pollution, it messes with your paint so badly. So in a matter of 4 years (if you don't maintain your car) everything is faded and dull. It's kind of nasty.

I would suggest using the enamel or lacuer touch up paint and wait 24 hours and use a finishing compound on the hood with a aplicator sponge , rub hard in a circular motion and cover the entire surface evenly wipe it off real good and put a sealant on it so it stays nice for a while. It makes the colors blend in good.
