help!! where is the idle control screw located ??? i have a 5 spd 88 Accord DX. reading alot of the prior posts with similar probs and i want to try and adjust the screw. i have changed plugs, wires, air filter, distributor and rotor

PROBLEM: starts fine when cold. idles high (seems to be the norm with everyone) BUT after warming up and driving, car stalls at stop lights and complete stops as soon as u push the clutch in. rpms drop to ZERO but car will start right back up and drive normal otherwise

The idle screw is on the right side of the carburetor (left side looking at the carb) just below the throttle cable. According to my Chilton manual this should be a knurled knob on the firewall side of the carb by mine appears to be a screw with a spring on the right side of the carb.

I have an identical problem with my 86 carbureted. It overheated and blew the head gasket so we reworked the head. It ran well before it overheated but now it won't idle. I have looked for a vacuum leak but haven’t found any hoses that we forgot to reconnect. Post more information if you find the reason your idle has changed.

:nono: the idle screw is at the firewall side of the carb. It's a Black knerrled knob not a screw. The other idle screw is on the left side with a spring on it. You set the blk. one first; in is up ;out is lower ;then rev the engine wait a few to isle down then set the screw if needed.Take your time it takes some foolin' aruond with :smokin:

:smokin: it is the black knerrled screw on the firewall side.In is up;out is down. you might need to ajust the screw on the pass.side ;set it then rev; it wait for a few till it idles down ; only after this you ajust the screw as necc.Good luck been there played with that :smokin: H.D.R.

I read the mechanic manual for 2000 Accord, it says not to adjust it if you have engine check light on. Just a note ^^
