Maxima Vs Mustang VS 1.8T GTI

Coming back from my girl's house on a 2 lane road, a riced out mustang revved on me. I look over and see a green mustang with a black primered body kit. He had 17's or 18's and a truck of a wheel gap. I have my nitrous bottle but nothing in it. I was like what the hey, I'll run him.

The roads were completely empty!

I count three and went on to hand him his a$$ by three cars. I thought he may have had a bad start and we ran again with the same result. I concluded that this was a base v6 mustang. He tried to run me again and I just laughed. This was over a course of 12 miles. During the middle of it, a 1.8T Yellow VW GTI saw me take the mustang and decided that he wanted to run.

He ran the mustang and tore him a new one.

he caught up to me and we ran even until 120 before we shut down. At a red light we gave each other 2 thumbs up and he asked what I had. I told him that I had a empty nitrous bottle. He smiled and said dam*, that means you would have crushed me if you were on the bottle. I said most likely and we continued to laugh at the mustang next to me.

He again tried to race us and the GTi and I just left him behind.

All in all a fun night. I'm getting my bottle filled tomorrow.

nice kill...... Macimas have awesome power for a v6 anyway, besides the mustangs are generally pieces of sh*t unless they've been modified well and if this was a v6 or an automatic.... well then the poor disillussioned mustang driver had no chance in my opinion :p good kill bro.

No I talked to him but never had a chance to ask what he had. I did hear a blow off valve though. I'm pretty sure that it was stock turbo, maybe chipped.

Nice kills. Im still waiting for an encounter with a GTi since a friend says they can beat my stang(considering theres some pretty quick ones here). Well just have to see as soon as I find one. :D

GTI's are way over rated

new ones have a bigger turbo and i still rip them new ones, even ones with boost controllers and chips they cant figure out why this pos looking crx is smoking them

how do you figure? is it the fact that a 00-01 1.8t gti makes a whopping 155 hp and 150lbs of tq? or the fact that it weighs 50 lbs more than a 4th gen maxima which makes 55 more lbs of tq and 40 more hp. even when they upped the GTI's power in 02 it's still came up 10 hp and 30 lbs of tq shy of a maxima and weighs the same 50 some-odd lbs more.

not to mention eternity has an intake, flywheel, clutch, y pipe, catback and nitrous on his max. he's probably got in excess of 200-210 crank hp without the juice. that gti doesn't stand a chance unless it's got some nice mods on it.
i'm not saying gti's are shitty but i don't understand your logic as to thinking the GTI's faster than the maxima. stock vs stock; no way. and a modded vq is not something to toy with.

Nicely said, I love the GTI as much as the next but I am actually making 200fwhp without nitrous. I am a bit slower since I am weighed down by a 150lbs custom stereo in the trunk, not to mention my 18's. check out me web for pics.

that's a real nice max, man. i had a 95 SE that i wanted to put some work into but after a intake y pipe and cat-back i got worried about my high mileage and traded it in for my new max. i like the altezza's on your car. only certain colors can pull it off.

i kinda like GTI's but they look like old school rollerskates to me. plus the 1.8T is kinda shitty. i had a friend with a '00 1.8t jetta and he got spanked by a bone stock '01 intergra ls, both cars 5 speed. the only VW i could see myself in is a vr6 corrado.

Yeah a lot of people do sleep on the maxima. A focus revved on me the other day and I took it by like 10 cars. Then a riced out civic revved on me and I gave it a head start and still murdered him. It's almost embarrassing as to who tries to race me.

yeah and then instead of coming to the realization that they drive a turd they ask some stupid question like "is that maxima supercharged?" i've been there man.

i drive a ford but work at the nissan dealer and drive plenty of Maximas. In years correspongly the maximas are quick but cannot take the mustangs. Hopefully the new 255 hp Altima SE R will do so damage for nissan! Its looking good.

I'm not sure which mustang you are speaking of, but I think we have already concluded that this was a v6 mustang. I have beaten plenty of GT mustangs. I'm not saying my max is the fastest car in the world, but it's no snail. I am putting about 200 whp and about 210 wtq without nitrous.

v6 stangs are sloths but an 03 stang gt vs maxima, i would think the stang would win 9 times out of ten

I bought a car.
My uncle told me it was a piece of junk.
Now I have a big bottle in the trunk that spews noxious gas into my engine when I need to be fast.
Sometimes the bottle goes empty.
Then my girlfriend asks me "where'd your fast car go? The one you had yesterday?"
I drive in silence for a while and then pull up to the Auto Zone.
