you can get a 6 bolt block and do the swap. have your head ported out and all that fun stuff. throw in som egood rods and pistons and then slap it all back to gether with a 14b or 16g. (maybe a 20g) all of this will probably be cheaper than putting a new engine in the car and benefit you better. (that is if you're doing the work yourself!) if you're just replacing it, I guess you could do that. it's the same engine... just a different block. and I highly doubt you'll be able to find a 1g engine with less miles than your 2g

actually if you were to do the 6 bolt block swap it really wouldnt give you any more power, all it would do is resolve any worries about CW... i wouldnt spend the money to port and polish a 2nd gen head if i could get a cheap 1st gen head and port that! you will see much more improvement with the 1st gen head, also the 2nd gen exhaust manifold would help with some power too, allow you to flow more! on the other hand... now for the swap, there are some little things you have to do to make the motor work like cut part of your motor mount and do a baro wire mod so you dont get the Random missfires and the check engine wont come on! now if you really think you need a new motor then fine but what i would suggest is that you just do a standard rebuild on your motor, maybe even replace some of the internals with performance parts and you will be good to go... no you say your engine is getting high on miles... what exactly is high to you?

That was my question as well. How many miles are we talking about. I have seen some 11-12 second cars with 170k plus on the motors...
