Big Loud Shut

Has anyone ever noticed how loud the doors on the hatches shut? I've noticed they only do it witht he 90-91 models. I think it might be because of the seat belts that are in the door. I mean, since the doors have been shut for over 14 years, wouldn't the seat belt motor and it's components get loose? Also, when the window is done, it makes it even more louder because I think the window is rattling. I'm going to take apart the door tomorrow and see if it's actually loose. Any suggestions on a solution? I'll keep you guys posted!

Yeah mine is quite noisy too (91 civic hb). In addition to this, the little arm that connects to the body and the door (hell if I know what it's called) sticks in the door until the arm is fully retracted on the body, then it slams back with a loud clang as soon as it gets a slight tug out of the door. Any idea on a fix for that?

Yeah, I think those are called detent rods, but not certain... Kris (whom I haven't seen on here in quite some time) replaced his not too long ago with a set from a junkyard...
Here's the thread he made about it:

As far as shutting the door and it being loud, you could always throw some dynamat in there to quiet things down. I've also noticed that my doors shut alot quieter since I removed the door-mounted seat belts and put in harnesses. another thing to try is that there are some round rubber stoppers on the edge of the door panel... By twisting them counter-clockwise (or anti-clockwise for the kiwis and aussies on the board) they will "unscrew" from the door allowing you to adjust them in/out as needed. Try adjusting them farther out and see if that works.

The little stoppers I have tryed, but they don't really seem to work to well. A little while back, some clips on my door panel were some how busted and it made my door sound ever louder than what it shoudl be. I replaced those and they have quiten down a bit, but still bang when ever I shut it.
I've noticed it to be even louder when I have my window down. It kinda shakes. Any advice on this?
