My New Car!

Once again it was time for me to get some new wheels. For those of you that dont know, a few weeks ago, I bought a 93 Ford Escort GT.
1.8L DOHC 4cyl Mazda Engine
5 Spd Standard
Power Sunroof
Power Seat Belts
Factory Fog Lights
Working A/C
4 Wheel Disc Brakes
I bought it from a guy at work, and I got a good deal. The car is very low milage, and doesnt need too much to get it on the road. Mostly it just needs some tlc.
Now, on to the pics. I apologize in advance for the poor quality, these were taken with a crap old school camera, and scanned in with an even crappier scanner.

Currently the car sits in my drivway up on jackstands. The tranny is out on the ground, and I just got the flywheel machined today. I will put in the new clutch and start putting it back together tomorrow. The only other thing the car needs for a safety, is the car has power seatbelts. The drivers one is busted, and ford wants $380 for a new one. I have been unable to source a used one so far, but I am currently looking into other alternatives (4pt harness for the drivers side, since we sell them at work, and I can get one cheap.)
I realize that the car is fairly boring for some people, but it is in fairly nice condition, its also the first car I have had with a working sunroof. And the GT is quite rare around here. There are only 2 in the whole town, and the other one is owned by an older couple.
Since the motor is very common, there are alot of mods available for it, and alot of protege parts fit. So far I have a VAF Adaptor, Ractive 3" Cone Filter, Vibrant Strut Tower Brace, Eibach Sportline Springs, pacesetter poly shifter bushings. All of these parts are sitting in my room, wating to be installed. My room is packed with all these goodies :sunglasse

Sweet. Is that the 1800 BP motor? There's LOTS of tasty mods I know for that motor :D
As well as a lot of swaps (1.8T :evillol: )

The simplest mod you can do for the 1800 BF-DOHC in that bodyshell is... that the airbox has a piece of pipe connected to the harmonic silencer (that piece of tube running just behind the radiator and front crossmember). If you disconnect the end from the harmonic silencer and turn it around (ie disconnect it at the airbox and put it on facing away from the silencer)... you will find it will sit just behind the headlight and provides an additional cold air intake...
Had the Ford Laser version (that's what they were sold as in this part of the world) which had a spanner occasionally wielded in its general direction. Was pretty reliable although the gearing meant that at 90 mph it was doing around 4,500 rpm in fifth so it tended to have reasonably poor fuel economy on the banzai runs.

Very nice :D I had a bright red 93 Escort GT. It was my first cool car. I loved that thing and put a ton of miles on it. Sadly time came when it had too many repairs needed to justify the costs etc....and now 7 years later same thing has happened to my Neon, however, the Escort was actually still running when I traded it in :lol2: Alot of good memories with that car as with my other 2 :)

Thats right. The Executive Council voted 2-1 in favour of blaming Slave.
Its just the right thing to do.
