Hood Shocks

I want to put a set of the gas-shocks in place of my hood hinges. Do i just have to find a set that will hold the weight and are a close enough size or is there more to it?

Pretty much, although the struts, when compressed exert a couple of hundred pounds of pressure. The mounting points will have to be strong enough to hold up.
