hey guys i was wondering: is it nessesary to change the air filter to a k&n or should i just go out and buy the piping from the turbo and get a full intake system??

If you get the piping or not, the K&N still helps the same amount. You'll be putting the filter onto the MAS, so getting a new intake pipe doesn't affect it.

the K&N FIPK is at the top of the list for air filters. you can run the K&N with a dumptube hack for a pretty noticable gain. check out the POSR Home Depot intake for an extremely cheap, extremely effective intake pipe.

Home depot and then spray paint it with the "ceramic" paint. Helps keep the heat out.

I was looking at getting the Injen intake system.I'm looking at getting a T3/T4 turbo system later on...but will the Injen system work with stock then later can i put the t3/t4 and will it still fit?

I have the Injen intake system and love it. You wouldn't believe how much it changed the sound of the turbo and BOV. I had the intake, DP and high flow cat done at the same time (So I'm not sure which one exactly altered the sound). You can really hear the turbo spool up, and the BOV sounds more like a blitz...with that real deep wooosh! Plus it just looks nice.

to answer dsm97gsx's question, yes... the injen will fit perfectly fine on the stock turbo. and it should also work just fine on the aftermarket. it just may be a little more difficult to squeeze the on. not a big deal though.

Depends on the compressor inlet size. They can get pretty large once you start talking about Garrett hybrids.

Basically, anything smooth and airtight is going to be better than the accordian hose that came stock.
