speed sensor in transmission

can someone please tell me where the speed sensor is located in 91 4runner transmission. I looked at manuals and can't find details. Model of transmission on side read 30-80-EL. My 4runner is an automatic 4x4 with 6 cylinder engine.

don't know if this will help you. have 95 runner and same problem. mine is manual trans. was told by tech at toyota dealer that the speed sensor is attached to speedometer itself and may need new speedometer. feel free to e-mail me. still looking into problem. :banghead:

thanks for the info, but I did find a manual in florida on my transmission. My 4runner transmission 30-80-EL is also in an Isuzu 4 wheel drive. From the manual its on the driverside in the center of the transmission. It has a green and black electrical cord. It si made of plastic and is held onto the transmission by a sheet metal fastened by a bolt to the transmission. thanks though
