so i'm thinking about buying some rims soon...i want my car to be more for performance over looks but yea...i def. like 17's over 16's. of course the problems are that 17's are heavier and with all that wieght on the outside of the rims, inherently slower than 16's. if anyone can recomend some nice lightweight 17's that'd be awsome!

get 16's or even 15's the less weight and more money you can save. Unless you want to be a big "Cash Burnin Baller"

SSR Comps. 13lbs in "17 size. That's only one pound more than my 12lbs. "15 Rotas. ;)

His car would still be a fair bit slower with those wheels though, since they push the mass out towards the edge of the wheel.

It's all about mass, not volume space. The mas is only 1 pound more. Yes, that's 8lbs. more when in motion, but not a significance of a differance as say he were rolling on some designer wheels. If he went with the "15 SSR comps, he'd be only dealing with 9lbs. of wheel weight. ;)
