Does anyone know where the standard factory CD changer is located in the Taurus Wagon? I have thus far not been able to locate it. I have checked in the rear area around where the tire is stored and near the passenger side wheel well.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have a 98 Taurus sedan, which was equipped to operate a factory trunk CD changer, as all the tauruses are. However, not all Tauruses come with the CD changers. Yes, you will see controls on your radio to operate the CD changer, but that doesnt mean you have one installed. If you dont see it in the rear area, then your vehicle didnt come equipped with one, because they're hard to miss, and they don't hide them when they install them. You can buy an aftermarket CD changer and have it installed, and it will work just fine. You can either buy one that is directly controlled by your controlls you already have on your radio, or you can get one which operates through FM modulation. These have a small wired remote control with LCD screen that you control it with up front instead of using your radio controls. I installed a Pioneer 6 disc changer in my trunk, and it works just fine (FM Modulation). I would avoid getting brands like Sony, JVC, or anything cheaper that has over 6 disc capacity, because I've heard that these jam up easier. (Sony isn't the best car audio brand anyway, brands like Pioneer, Alpine, rockford fosgate, and Audiovox are the better brands) Good luck!
