'94 2.2 & '00 2.2 same?

I have a 94 S-10 w/ 2.2L 4cyl. and i can buy a 2.2L out of a '00 S10 is it the same engine. I know a lot of things need to be changed over but I just need to know if I can swap this engine for the old one.
