whats the deal with putting integra engine heads on civic blocks? like, would that be easier than a swap? is there anybody who done it already? any pros/cons for it? somebody fill me in.. i saw this issue in the s2000 issue of honda tuning, in some guy's letter. thanks to whoever can help!! peace.

You can't stick an Integra head on a D-series block. And I don't know why you would want to replace a B16 head with a B18C head. The B16 head flows much better than the B18C head.

The flow charts from B16's and GSR's i've seen are nearly identical, and they flow withing 3 or 4 CFM's of each other when fully ported. In fact, you should make a bit more power with a GSR head because it increases compression a touch.

thats the plan for me and i KNOW it works. im going to put an integra type r head on a stock civic b18c bottom end. that engine itself will put out close to or around 300 hp.

yah, only if the Civic's came with a B18C...

ive seen my plan work. check out the new issue of hot tuning and imports. this guy with a 90's (one of them...haha) civic hatch. put a fully ported and polished integra type r head on a b18c bottom. a b18 could fit into any civic with a bit of work.

Okay, we all on this board know that B18's fit into civics, and with relatively no work at all. You said you are going to stick an ITR head on a STOCK CIVIC B18C bottom. FYI, no Civic ever came from the factory with a B18C motor.

Please, PLEASE attempt this and post pictures of the whole process, dynocharts, etc.. then the look of absolute stupidity on your face when you figure out that you're a fuckin retard. I'm sure it will look something like this:

Let me explain some things to you noob. A B18C1 is an Integra (not Civic) GS-R engine. A B18C5 is an Integra (not Civic) Type R engine. A Type R head on a GS-R block is a waste of money. You'll go from 170hp to about 185hp, for probably $1000 in labor and $1000 for the Type R head alone. Oh, and you'll need an ECU also ($200-$400). Oh yeah and high compression pistons to take advantage of the higher-flowing head ($900). You really think a stock, all-Honda motor application will push 300hp? That's how much a Subaru STi makes and it's boosted..

That's for a fully ported B16 head vs. fully ported GSR head. The results of comparing stock heads show the same discrepancies. ITR heads stock flow a bit better than B16's or GSR's because theyre lightly sanded from the factory, but when ported to the max all the vtec heads flow very similarly.

I've heard the B16B head flows better than all stock B-series engines. You wouldn't happen to have a chart with those numbers would you?

go look at hot compact and import. theres an article of a guy with a civic that made that happen.

wow, you really don't know your stuff. Before attempting something of this magnitude I think you need to read up on some more forums first. We aren't saying that it isn't possible. We all know it is, what we are saying is that the Civic does not come from the factory stock with a B18C as you so put it.

well you guys are right because i dont know exact engines come stock in civics, like in another post, this is outside of my normal forums. i guess after reading the article i was under the impression that it was a civic bottom end.
