first id use the money you were gonna get a bodykit with and buy je pistons&rods, then buy stage3 cams with the money you saved not buying rims&tires and last id buy a turbo with the money you were gonna get a hood, wing, mirrors, paint job and altezzas with.

5K is a good price for a pretty powerful 4...dont waste your money on nos...do cams, pistons, rods, crank, rollers, then...it can handle a good 20-30lbs of boost...TURBO TIME...then get a header and catback exhaust....it would be really cool to even have the exhause relatively quiet...really mess them up...the wont hear it...and if they're racin ya...they wont see ya cause youll loose them SO damn fast.....yeah, i dont get the whole"put 20 grand into the looks, then 50$ into a cold air intake"its like wastin your money...sleepers rock

Everything that he listed with not automatically enable you to run that much boost. There's no way you'll be able to run close to 20 pounds on stock sleeves. And if you do want to run that much boost, $5k will definitely not be enough money. You should try and set a horsepower goal within your price range rather than a boost goal.

You need to decide if you want to go N/A ot boost. That should be the first question.
Also I would start by removing the VTEC emblem from the back and replace it with a Special Edition one so that the outline that is left from the emblem will be covered up with the SE emblem ;) Also this will somewhat lower the risk of it getting jacked.

This is my sleeper :naughty: . I used the car just so i can use my money to build up the motor and not be tempted to hook up the car. 95 b18c1 w/p72 skunk2 manifold, tanabe catback exhaust. not a teg but a teg at heart :iceslolan .

Hey man, sorry i'm not answering your question, but i was wondering how much it would cost to get a 99 Gs-r to up around 250 hp? and what would be the best way (cheapest) to do that?

i/h/e/im/skunk2 stage1 cams/hondata/70shot n20 and you'll be anywhere from 245-260whp

There's a big difference between 200 horsepower and 300 horsepower. I will be much easier to get 200hp out of an n/a motor than 300. If you're shooting for numbers as high as 250-300, you should probably go forced induction, or maybe n/a with n2o. Either way, it won't be cheap. There is no "cheap" way to do things when you want that kind of horsepower.

The main difference is this. If you go NA it'll be harder and more expensive to get into the high HP range and may require more mods whereas Forced Induction is usually a cheaper way to get lots of HP.

to be more specific i'd like to have around 250 hp...but lots of yall are saying it'll cost me lots of $$$$$$$!! What parts should i start buying? And can i make my car have 250hp without Turbo? :naughty:

Well... a full N/A buildup would cost around 10 grand, give or take. Probably give :P. N/A would be more on the higher compression side. N/A isn't too safe with turbo.

If you go with lower compression pistons, you have room for turbo. It all depends on where you want to go with it. Turbos are expensive.

Nitrous is the cheapest way to go for easy HP.

So yeah, I think you could make 250hp with a full build N/A block and nitrous. (both ways are expensive.)

I eventually plan on building up entirely N/A, then drop some nitrous.

have u guys checked out my thread yet? 260hp at the crank for a gsr at 8psi on a turbonetics turbo kit for under 2500.00. i wouldn't call this cheap, but it is the best bang for the buck period.

i just saw this post. if u want a fast n/a motor, its going to be expensive, heres a break down on what u need.
http://www.importreview.com/reviews/lsvtec.html

the other route is forced induction which is what i prefer since it's more affordable and the look of the intercooler and sound of the bov is just too sweet. 2500.00 for a an awesome turbo kit or 8000.00 for killer all motor set up, the choice is up to u.

i think you're right trannsx, forced induction is way i'll prolly go...one reason $$$$$$$$$$ heheheheh
