Well, I have great plans for my upcoming metro.
If you have read my previous posts on the metro I will be aquiring, you will know what I am about to deal with.
Currently this car does not run. This is what I want, to add to the suspense. I, have only paper knowledge of how an engine works, how turbochargers work, and so forth, although I plan to learn more "on paper" stuff, I want to get to know the hands on stuff. Which is why I am purchasing this metro. I want to see how fast I can get these three cylinders to go, without breaking them that is.
Plan of action:
GET THE CAR RUNNING!
I know the problem with the interior lights and electric not working on the dash has everything to do with the steering column which was previously replaced (they somehow felt the need to replace the entire steering column, because the ignition lock was punched???). So using voltage testers, I will try to find which wire is having the problem, and try to get the power going in the interior.
Once I can get the ignition lock to fire up the starter, I can see what else may come up, the car may run just from that, or I may need to replace the starter.
ONCE THE CAR IS RUNNING!
Replace the intake system, and everything from the catylac converer back (exhuast). This clean the air flow a bit, and add a horse or two.
Install a small turbocharger/intercooler. A larger one will be installed next. I know what you may think, two turbos on a three cylinder? Yes. I do not plan on either of them being too powerful. The small turbocharger will be used to cut back on turbo lag, the larger one will be used for the overall boost in hp. I also plan to add the little extras to allow the turbo chargers to run much smoother.
ONCE THE CAR HAS (MORE) POWER!
Give it a paint job. Possible add some cool skirts, a couple neon lights and such.
Now do not get me wrong, I do not plan on making this car the fastest in town (I am sure there is no possible way I could), but I do want to make it one of the fastest Metros in town. Remember, my goal is to find out how fast these three pistons can get me.
I have a site that will show the updates on how far along I am (there are others who will be working on it as well).

I would just try to get it running first. Use a test light to see if there is power to the small wire on th starter when the key is turned. Also check the batt befor getting in to it too far.

I do plan on getting a voltage tester, and getting to work is the first step. I am on my way to getting it now. I will post later tonite with more information. And maybe a pic or two.

This is a direct quote from the MyCarWorks forums:

Got the car, and if you had read the problems, I had fixed some already :)
When I got the car the battery was completely dead, so I charged it up at 12v low for about 30 minutes or so. I put the battery in, the radio time came on (which I found out today, according the the radio clock, there is no other time than 1:00p, once it should change to 2 o'clock, it just starts back at one, maybe brian mcknight wrote the design.
I learned my first lesson, test things right after you tinker with something, I spent an hour tinkering with everything, and than, just for the humar, stuck the key in and turned on the power, and it worked, the seatbelt warning lights lit up, the sounds where heard, and I could hear the fuel pump going hummmmmmmmmmmmm click, all the lights where horribly dim, and the starter was still not activated. I am hoping this is because the battery was too low.
I think maybe the alternator went out on the guy and he didn't know it, if that is true, the car will still work once I get the fully charged battery in, and I can work from there.
Other than that, I have no more news.
I will update again tomorrow.

Got it working, runs great, turns out there was a blown fuse on the computer, 32v, found it, replaced it, and it started up perfect :) I can hear nothing mechanically wrong with it, and the alternator is working fine.
Next comes some pictures.
