If you want speed, get an EVO.....but if you just want a car for ur daily driving, get a normal Lancer...but you can still customize it though...make it more faster and stronger... OZ Rally would be good choice cuz it s an sporty car. Also a Lancer Ralliart....comes with 160hp somethin...

hmmmm.... get the evo instead, its gonna be better in the long run because time will come when your gonna want to tune that lancer and your just not going to be as quick as an evo. plus those recaro seats on the evo are really nice! turbo engine, brembo brakes, 4 wheel drive... cmon, if you have the money then go for the evo!

In additional to the turbo and awd stated above, the EVO has the front mounted intercooler for the turbo, big Brembo brakes, limited slip rear differential, super quick steering, Forged 17" wheels, near track ready high performance tires, lots of structural reinforcements, Recaro bucket seats for the fronts, significantly upgraded suspension, height adjustable HID head lights, etc.
The Lancer does have fold down rear seats for better storage that the EVO's don't.
In terms of cool factor and retaining resale value, the EVO's wins hands down.
However, IMHO the EVO's in general have certain limitations:
It has a shorter warranty period. 6 years instead of the Lancer’s 10.
Its clutch will not handle too much abuse. Slipping the clutch too much on daily drives will shorten its life, as will repeated 5000 rpm hard launches. The EVO 8 is not design as a drag racer.
The EVO’s gas mileage is not good for a 4 banger. (I’m getting 18 mpg combined - 80% city, 20% open Hwy) It's tuned to run pretty rich (safe). However, I don't think people buy EVO's for the gas mileage.
The steering is quick to the point of being nervous. This can be tiring for a daily driver for some people.
The stiff suspension is pretty hard on your kidneys on freeway expansion joints at 10-30 mph. A little like a slammed sub-compact with stiff springs.
However, driven hard, the EVO is awesome. In terms of brakes and handling, EVO’s are nearly track ready. With just $2K worth of add-on’s to a stock EVO 8, I can’t think of anything under $40K that will touch it on the track.

The Lancer is an economy car designed to compete with Civics, Sentras, Corollas, etc.
The Lancer EVO is that overbuilt guy in your gym that could hand everyone their ass. The EVO is a performer built to rule the track. Acceleration, handling, braking, traction, and laptimes.
Lancer
Pros: Gas mileage, insurance,....
Cons: Everything else
EVO
Pros: Performer out of the box; Supercar slayer with a few thousand into it
Cons: Looks don't match its performance, nearly identical interior as Lancer, Mitsubishi reliability and resale
