I have a 1996 4 door 4.0 6 cylinder 4x4 Ford Explorer. The drivers master door unlock switch doesn't work. Switch is good. Troubleshot wiring to drivers unlock relay socket in the left rear quarter in the washer fluid area. I have 12 volts to the coil but no ground leaving it. Bypassed the connection to the RAP in parallel and relay worked but still wouldn't unlock from drivers door, (motor starting oscillating). According to Haynes manual 36024 relay coil ground path is via a light green wire to c336 and then to the remote Anti-theft personality module. All functions work including key fob transmitter except for the master unlock function. Master lock also works. Haynes doesn't go any further!! Where is c336 and where is the remote Anti-theft personality module? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

if it's like the 97 expy theres a separate relay for the drivers door my diag shows a R/O wire from the drivers door going to it. are you sure that switch is good? try swapping it with the pass side one. i assume you checked for damaged wires in the door boot. it you ground the PINK/L GRN wire at the switch it should unlock at least 3 doors even if the mod and drivers relay are bad. i'd say theres a good chance the harness that runs into the door has a loose connection somewhere, try wiggling it.
good luck!!!! better you than me

Right on the money!!! I had an intermittent connection via a corroded butt splice in the door boot (thanks to Carmax!). It ohmed out fine 3 times but today I suddenly lost my 12 volt reference and traced it. Thought I was going nuts!
