i have just replace a stock 4 stock turbo on 91 talon tsi...i have the same problem...if i hold accelerator steady it wont hold the boost it moves slightly and goes back down...it does really go untill 4000rpm and stays 7 psi or under...cant launch it, big notice of lost power, doesnt seem to be any vacuum leaks, the only thing i can think of is there was a little bit of carbon in the turbo housing, i only switched the turbo not the whole housing...also i switch the wg and have aftermarket bov that seems to be working fine with no leaks

bov???
i dont know much about turbos but it sounds like youve got a leaking bov

i would try standing next to the car and listening for a whistle (from the leak) then try and find out where its coming from. there are a couple threads that go into more detail on finding boost leaks. try searching "talon boost leaks" also, make sure all your intake/intercooler pipe connections are screwed on tight

found problem...it was the turbo housing...it was cracked all over the place, the boost was leaking internally out of the wastegate flapper right into the exhaust...got evo III big 16g and smoked a mustang 5.0, just like it should be!!!
