laptop help

i need helpwith my laptop, the screen wont get any bigger than this little screen in the middle with a bid black area of unused screen around it. there are no dials or button to change it on the outside i looked several times. the laptop is a inspiron 11oo by dell, any help would be great

well I only experienced this kind of trouble when running linux on laptops and it proved to be a driver problem.

So try a rollback if you have XP, or try installing the updated driver for your videocard from the dell website.
