tuarus wont start. fuel problem?

im not sure of the year 91-96 somewhere in there.

its my mothers car so i dont know a whole lot about it.
ive been driving it for about 3 weeks now. the first week it ran fine. then the 2nd week starting it became a hassle. i have to pump the gas bout 3 times then start it, and keep pumping the pedal till it starts. then after it starts it idles really low and rough. i have to keep my foot on the pedal. if i dont it stalls. after holding the pedal for about 3 minutes to keep the idle up it runs normal the rest of the day. it also puts out a huge thick white cloud of smoke till it starts runing smoothly.

sp besides that problem, the other day when i got home it ran fine. went out to go to work and it wont start. the enigine sounds like it might be out of gas. the guage was close to empty (not in red, but close) so i though maybe its a shotty guage and i ran it out of gas. so i put some gas in it, but it still wont start.

when i turn the key it sounds normal but wont turn over. if i pump the pedal like 20 times and hold it in, it will turn over once then stop.

someone was sayin somethin about air bubbles in the fuel injection or something? any ideas?

never mind.
