hi all im planing on bluying one i want a awd turbo... i hear that the 95 is good but what year do you guys recomand to me?

I think the body style is going to become your preference. As long as you get the 4g63 engine you'll be ok no matter what year you buy.

The 2nd gen's all have the same numbers performance wise (taking in consideration that we're talkin about the tsi awd). The only changes done between the 95/96 and 97/98 were the looks, the front emblem had an enlargement done to it and the design for the spoiler changed. Most common problems you can experience with the cars are transmission issues and timing belt going off (and crankwalk with your turbo). Other than that these cars are great, make sure you know the history of the car vefore you buy it, and enjoy if you do, just be safe
